Pyranha Elite C1
Does anyone know where I might find a Pyranha Elite C1?I am thinking of doing the reunion race at Grand Tully and it would be nice to do it in a boat that I used to race in back in the day.

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season
Very well put Mark & i hope the people who made the decision will review the consequences of that decision - im sure that ages isnt the only problem that will be found out with this decision to extend the season Can anybody explain why it is a bad decision to extend the season? I can't see any real...

Stronger Together 2021-2025
Has anybody else received this invitation to complete a survey on the 2021-2025 high performance strategy? Apart from it being embarassingly amateur - you can't read the policies you're supposed to be commenting on - I can't see anything that is materially different from what has been done in the pa...

Re: 6.7 Organiser Discretion on Accepting Paddle Ups
I judged a div 1 race at the Serpents Tail during my first season when I was still in division 4. I don't think I made it down the course once. I since have swam most courses in the country. I think that the risks involved in our sport are somewhat overstated.

Re: 6.3 Entry Card Retention
I was surprised to find that my third place had changed to a fourth when the results came through the post many years ago. The fact that we had to wait for the results to be printed and sent out should give some idea of how long ago it was. I never questioned it but an additional penalty had been ad...

Re: Symonds Yat Sunday cancelled
I'm sure I speak for most paddlers when I thank you and your team for putting the effort in to running this great race. It must be highly frustrating for you and for Wyedean that so many races have been cancelled, but we know that it is unavoidable, and down to some serious bad luck with the weather...

Age discrimination
I am surprised that this hasn't raised its head already, but doesn't the existence of the veterans class contravene the equality act? Only those over 34 can join it, and it has the huge advantage of allowing the competitor to race at any race and score points. As it happens I have turned vet this ye...

Re: C1 Disaster Imminent?
The only issue is that percentages aren't consistent across different courses. An open course favours the speed of the K1M, while a technical course reduces the advantage over the other classes. So if we go over to % based system a clever C1 or K1W paddler should target the more technical courses, a...

Re: C1 Disaster Imminent?
The jury's still out on switching, I got the distinct impression from recent races that Mallory and Kimberly are switching a lot less than they used to. To be a good switcher you need to be able to paddle equally on both sides, so Kayak is the best for learning this. You can't turn a kayaker into a ...

Re: Fins on boats
From my point of view I am glad that they are banning fins, not because of safety concerns, but because they are impractical on most natural courses. One of the great things about modern boats is that they are very strong, and the days of constant maintenance are a fading memory, the last thing I wa...

How confident are you that you will be able to run the event this weekend given the high water levels?

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
Actually. Rafting is killing these venues for slalom. Actually, without rafting and playboating the artificial courses couldn't survive. It costs millions to build a Lee Valley or a Cardiff, tens of thousands to run and maintain it, and thousands to pump it for a day. We need to be grateful that th...

Android slalom game
Someone I used to coach has designed a canoe slalom game for Android devices, and it's a lot more interesting than other attempts I've seen on any platform. Give it a go, but be warned it's not easy.
