Re: Back to Slaloms

I am pleased that there is some movement on the race front. Aren't div fours counted as ranking races? Ranking races have been stood down for this year by the Slalom committee. It would be good to get some clarity around this. Don't get me wrong I am all for racing at all levels, it may be difficult...

Re: British Open/ HPPCC/SS open

Thanks Peter, My brother is the safety officer at Tigers RFC and he says it's been busy getting ready for the fixture on Saturday. He has also offered to help Slalom out if we need any help and support moving through the processes to get races back. I am sure as a team we will get there eventually. ...

Re: British Open/ HPPCC/SS open

At least I can sit and watch 30 guys beat the living day lights out of each other playing rugby now.

I am very confused.

Re: British Open/ HPPCC/SS open

Hi Dee, Some races are run on public sites anyway. There must be more to it than that. Water parks have 30 people on an inflatable whilst other activities like open water swimming, wake boarding and other water sports are going on at the same time, along with the cafe being open to the public. Do you...

British Open/ HPPCC/SS open

Are there plans for the British Open to be run this year? HPPCC & SSCC have offered to run an open at HPP in September/October What are the stoppers for these events not to run? What do we need to do to overcome them? I feel that any measures we have to put in place to run an event this year will pr...

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season

So would you be Junior champ for one or two years if the race was run this year?

I agree lets get back to some form of racing ASAP. Football and Rugby are back which involve contact
so I am sure that we can manage to get paddlers down a course.

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season

So we are thinking of already splitting the seasons/years up for prizes. How many votes at the AGM do clubs get who have run races this year against clubs that haven't had the opportunity to run any races this year. I am sure that there will be other unforeseen questions that will take time to sort....

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season

Hi Mike, I have tried to start an email conversation with several people around what is required for timing and judges. More headsets needed( possibly) so they can be wiped down after each volunteer change. Do we ask regulars to buy their own head set or supply them to these volunteers. Judging spac...

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season

I have just seen from another post stream that part of my suggestion has already been debated. People are right, let's look at getting the sport going again and try to attract some new paddlers, of all ages. Let's look forward, HPPCC along with Stafford and Stone are looking at the possibility of an...

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season

Thanks Dee, It looks like making the season spanning over two years is going to throw up some issues that haven't been thought about. Would it not be easier just to wright this season off and let the people who got promoted stay promoted and just start again next year. I am sure people would underst...

Re: 6.1 ACM Voting

So now we don't know if the allocation of votes is sound or not. As no one takes down who is voting for what at the ACM clubs can have multiple votes? This is going off what Jim W wrote. This makes a very strong case for one club one vote doesn't it? No lynch mob Dee, just trying to get transparency...

Re: 6.1 ACM Voting

So for the wider slalom population, can we have a list of clubs with the amount of votes they each carry who are eligible to vote at the ACM please. Also after the ACM can we also have a list published of who voted for what, and how many votes each club carry next to each vote taken. This makes the ...
