"Tees Barrage Prem & Div 1 Sunday: The Division 1 event is now full and no more entries will be accepted." Surely if you are running a "ranking" event, it is necessary (in order of equality and fairness to everyone in the division) to allow any and all entrants to participate if they want to. To li...

Perhaps the committee could consider dropping section judges for div 1 competitions (unless they are combined with prems), but continuing to provide a jury chair and possibly a second jury member. This would reduce the overall workload for section judges but still ensure that an experience "eye" wa...

"We had a request from Viking K.C. that their event reverts back to a 2/3/4 double. The committee decided that this would only be allowed providing the course is set to Div 2 standards and there is a significant course change for the Sunday event. This will also apply to any multi divisional events...

Anne How does your statement that the committee has no plan compare against the the Committee's previous minutes namely "Anne Hounslow reported that there has been a lot of chat about double events however it was felt that the mix is about right." How did the committee reach that conclusion if it w...

Please look at my opening statement. Do the committee often make decisions without a plan? I would hope not - so why is it that when you say they don't have one, other organisers are of the opinion that committee positively discouraged the running of doubles? Surely everything in the recent past su...

Yes Richie I am quoting from the limited poll you refer to. Seems a great shame that not a lot of people use this forum for such dicussion. Wasn't it a member of the committee that once siad this isn't the proper place to develop such ideas? The only other comment I wish to make at the moment is to...

"The slalom committee decided that there should be few doubles if any....." This is a quote from an organiser recently to a general question on whether or not their event was a DOUBLE. It seems to endorse a willingness to run one but not cooperation for them to do so. So does this, along with the r...

With most published comments making organisers aware of their dissatisfaction in the organising of these events, it might be useful for ALL paddlers to say if they are in favour of more Doubles or not.

Please make sure ANY course doesn't clash with a racing event - it seems SOME PEOPLE can't grasp the idea that that's going to ruin some clubs efforts!

Its not the first time such a clash has happened. What is it with those folks - the last time they apologised and told Shepperton it wouldn't happen again - clearly they don' care or are just arogant in the manner they treat clubs and organisation who are trying to do their best for the sport.

It's great to see many comments on this subject. However the original aim of the subject was to judge if other people were in favour of "double" events and whether this would add to those taking part over a weekend in any location(s). It seems to me from comments I've heard over the past year or so...

Is there any use in having a reduced entry fee for double events when there are none for Premier Div paddlers and only two for Div 1s'?

"Keep events under 16 per season and manage down towards 12. This would incidentally reduce the number of promotions to Premier Division so I do not propose any other action for that purpose." Having read that this was one of the aims, I do wonder if there will be enough active sport to engage peop...

What I've found most surprising in this thread is the lack of enthusiasm of all but a few paddlers to tackle a percieve problem. If in the good ol' days the system worked - why not return to it? If it didn't why not embrace a new proposal and try it - especially one that been tried and tested elsew...

I think what the Chair of the Jury is trying to say is that where one judge clearly sees a touch and another judge is poorly placed to see same touch and does not give it, then the penalty will stand, which is why we place gate judges and section judges in different places. I'd agree with the logic...
