:cool: Probably worth a lot more debate, as has been pointed out the main guys to do the forerunner justice are the same guys that will be running in the competition. It doesn't have to be lead, fresh water weighs 1kg/litre so if you glass in a plastic drinks bottle filled with water you get the ballast.

Allows you to spread the weight for balance, and easier to remove when you have a repair that increases the boat weight.

Showing me age - but not as much as the photos of the boat. If memory serves me correctly the TS was a derivative of the Olymp 5 ends look to pointy for the 4 although I preferred the 6.
