Does that mean you are paying the £13,200 or have they come to their senses?

Re: design the gate

It would be good to keep a open mind on this and see if anybody can come up with something that really works. The are some clever people out there. I once saw catastrophic human judging decisions that cost a British paddler a MK1 win at a world championships, I was his coach and and after so much wo...

Re: paddling etiquette

I guess what Im saying is it is really important to talk about what the paddler wants to happen at a race beforehand and see it as part of the race prep format. That I believe is how we can positively help our paddlers.

Re: paddling etiquette

Nice people don't win races. The emphasis on rapid progression exerted in some parts of slalom will be to the detriment of the sport. I get it. And many of those who enjoy slalom for a wider variety of reasons, other than simply progressing quickly to the elite, will be turned off. Slalom racing ob...

The best slalom run ever.

Yesterday I watched the best kayak slalom run I have ever seen. It was amazing to see what was a incredibly difficult course done so well.

Re: paddling etiquette

Is there really anybody who has never sworn in public out of frustration? An emotion that a slalom run can often evoke? Etiquette is a code of behavior that delineates expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group. Has slalom r...

Its interesting to see that so many paddlers are getting experience of taking part in such a prestigious event. It must pay dividend for the future of their teams.

Re: Looking After Each Other

It may be better to amend the rules to have more people stay on the water at the finish particularly when multiple rescues may be required. I also think it is a big ask to have just finished a slalom run possibly less than sixty seconds ago and then make the best decisions to perform an effective re...

Re: Event Safety

I would assume that most of the syllabus of the course, if not all would be a duplicate of what any qualified coach would have covered in the past. Is it not a good idea to save time, money and hassle for such coaches to be exempt from the qualification and course required to help run events? I thin...

To do Paul Owen credit it would be good to see in print what he has actually done for the sport to get his OBE, I assume he was also paid very well financially for his work. This would maybe inspire other to follow in his footsteps. He was certainly a very good politician I seem to remeber when anyt...

Re: Canoe England Talent Programme

This all seems to be a recurring theme that is repeated every few years. Yes we could debate how the Multi million budget to UK canoeing is spent but to what positive effect I am not sure. If you as a competitor and really have ambition to excel in competition, then just get on with the training as ...
