Re: GB Selection Policy out for consultation
Robin, I don’t disagree with your article, I agree 100% with it. Whether percentages are used or not, and in what way is not the thrust of my point though (but is equally valid) – but the U23 section process itself. Why do we have pre-selection for U23, does anyone know? I don’t buy the argument it ...

Re: GB Selection Policy out for consultation
I agree there is an argument that says performance percentages are flawed, due to the dependency on which K1M are racing on the day and also the venue/course set. However, the main flow of the discussion is not the merit of percentages (which is an equally valid discussion point), but should there b...

Re: GB Selection Policy out for consultation
Personally I don’t understand why there is a pre-selection for U23 selection races, there isn’t for the junior selection races – yet both the U23 and Junior GB teams race on the same course/venue for the Euros and Worlds – so why is there a difference? If you take the U23 K1W pre-selected paddlers s...

RAAB Junior Paddle
Hi,
Does anyone have a left RAAB junior blade for sale? My daughter has broken one, and trying to get hold of a replacement blade is proving difficult. If anyone has blade/paddle they don’t want or for sale, please let me know.
Thanks
David

Re: The Structure of Slalom
I agree with Marvin. The main thrust of the proposal put forward is that we have a single open ranking system that enables any paddler to enter any race. I agree with this sentiment, but you can do that today, it’s called doing a judges run - you just don’t get any points. I agree not everyone likes...

Re: The Structure of Slalom
The thread starts out by saying this is a review of the ranking system, but then leads on to the recruitment and retention of paddlers. I’m sorry but I do not see how the two are linked, one is an administrative issues (ranking system) and the other is about the growth and development of the sport (...

Re: Olympic tickets via the BCU
Hi,
Does anyone know why some people have been charged £10 for the delivery of their tickets, whilst others for received their tickets for free?
Thanks
David

I think you need to take a step back and look at the underlying problem. It is great that new courses such as Cardiff and Lee Valley have been built, but they are built on a commercial model, which does not support the slalom community. When building any new venue, the commercial model used for sus...

My thoughts, I would go back to the original point, what is the objective of the Junior British Championship? By definition it should be looking for the best junior paddlers in the country. However, take into consideration: o The holy grail for the top juniors is getting into the Junior GB team o T...
