Races Entered this Season
Hi all. As it draws to a close, I made our last race entry of the year using the on-line system earlier today. It made the total for me and the rest of my family this season 98 separate entries. However I wasn't brave enough to add up all of the fees that this resulted in. Can anyone beat that? I ca...

Re: Quorate event dilemma.
What about we get rid of the quorate requirements for all classes altogether and compare run times against the K1 Men's time at the same event having firstly applied a time adjustment figure. This is what we did for C2's last year and it seems to be working perfectly well to me. If several entrants ...

Re: Modified Scores
I think that what Donna is trying to say in this proposal is that when a paddlers time is "slotted in and compared to any main class" (this applies not just Vet.s but for all incorate classes) then they should not be awarded with the points equivalent to the person who would have finished above them...

Re: VET points Plan B
Hi all. As always I think that I agree with what you are saying Steve Agar and your post Joel did make me smile. Counselling is available if require. This issue of Vet.'s being out of position does not apply to all classes as the C1 Men's rankings appear fine to me using the current, very simple sys...

Re: Div 4 C2 - Confused of Winchester
Hi all. There were to be no consequences to the existing C2 Division 4 by the proposal submitted, either intended or unintended. The proposal submitted asked for the C2 Prem. / 1 Division to be combined with the 2 / 3 Division so that any C2 crews could then enter any race they felt able to do and a...

Re: Div 2/3 Vets
A single digit K1 Men's Vet. race bib for use next season may be more difficult to secure this season than has previously been the case. At least the new rules for all of the Vet.'s classes appear to have ensured that we will have a good number of us on the start line of all races. Can't wait to see...

Re: 2018 HORNBILL CARDIFF BAY PREMIER RACE 5 & DIV4
Hi.
Will the practise slot you get put into be at the organisers discretion or is there some way that you can indicate which slot you would like to be placed into.
Sorry if this is obvious and I have missed it.

Re: Online Enrty Transaction Fees
I thought the same thing this morning when I made multiple paddler entries for the same race. Last year I seem to recall that you were only charged a single transaction charge for the overall on-line booking not a proportion of the total charge being taken. However if you then went back in to enter ...

Re: 6.1 ACM Voting
I wondering why voting on Canoe Slalom ACM motions needs to be done via Clubs anyway. Why can't each Paddler, who is affiliated to a governing body i.e. British Canoeing, attend the ACM and vote as an individual on matters that affect them. One paddler, one vote. If you can't attend in person then p...

Re: HPP Div 1 & 2
I would love to enter the Div.2 race Dave but under the current rules as a Prem. / Div.1 K1 Men's Vet I am unable to do so.
Perhaps next year if a proposal to change the way Vet.'s can enter races gets put forward and is approved I will be able to do so.

Re: Ranking and Promotion
Would a possible compromise be that in season promotion was only possible for paddlers who had secured full points (i.e. Won) at three previous races in that season? This would not hold back the most capable paddlers in each division but would limit the impact that in season promotion causes to divi...

Re: Ranking and Promotion
We may not like to admit it but I feel that James has nailed the crux of the problem here. It is the in season promotions that create the major issue of insuffiecient places being available towards the end of each season. Can you image what carnage the various football leagues would have to put up w...

Re: C2 Structure for 2018 Season
Thanks everyone for your varied contributions. I would like to summarise the general feeling that I have gained through comments made on this thread together with many face to face discussions. Most people would be willing to support a single C2 class allowing any registered C2 crew to pre enter any...

Re: Simplifying Vets
Personally (for the same reasons that a similar changes would work for the C2 class) I can see no reason why it would not work for all of the current Vet.'s classes and simplify everything associated with Vet. entries at the same time. If the current 20% run time adjustment made to the Prem./1 Vet.'...
