Paddle Down points

In order to redress the balance to certain paddlers AFD Canoe Club are planning to propose the above at the next ACM
Paddle Down points will allow paddlers accelerated demototion through the season rather than waiting to the end of the season.
It will work thus:-

Paddlers will be eligible to enter races 1 division below their dovision at the start of the season. Only 1 division as we would not want accelerated demotions too quickly through paddlers constantly entering races as paddle downs.
By racing paddle downs to qualify for Paddle Down (AF) points paddlers must achieve a position within the top 10% of the paddle down position. Achievement of 3 Paddle down results will allow the paddler to apply for demotion.

Paddlers will pay the same entry fee but will be expected to undertake coursewalks with the divisional paddlers plus bankside duties including judging.
AFD will be in Tully this weekend should anyone wish to discuss this further
