Mrs C P Paddler said:
It is clear that the back-up idea would not work for Prem & Div.1, in view of the issues highlighted with the timing team etc. and the complexity of the managed calendar.
However, would it be possible to consider a postponement option for lower division events as an alternative to outright cancellation?
Maybe a weekend could be set aside at some point in the autumn to mop up any uncompleted events, provided that this works for the organising club and fits with local arrangements for access, etc.(?).

I have revived this thread in view of the very understandable Bala cancellation.........when mad ideas like this pop up.

Re: Back-up Dates?
Since this has come to the top, just an additional thought.
Suppose it happened and an event is cancelled the backup date clashes with another event.
Paddlers have entered both and the events have planned accordingly (toilets, prizes, food etc).
There would then be mass cancellations for both events of approximately half the competitors.
