Tryweryn
Does anybody know if individual slalom team members each have to pay the new fees at Tryweryn?

Re: Slalom vs. Recreational paddling
Christ, they really butchered my original article! Some interesting editing going on there in terms of phrasing and grammar. Yeah, the crux of it for those who want it summed up is that dedicated slalom paddlers really should get out on natural rivers in plastic boats, and likewise it would do a lot...

Re: Our sport is a mess
the choice is between pottering about in an unresponsive plastic tub on flat(tish) water learning "skills" to earn star awards, or training on gates with a much higher skill level, and a competitive aspect to maintain interest. At the end of the day the racing is only part of the sport. We spend fa...

Re: Our sport is a mess
Simon, I fear a lot of your comments on this thread and related stem from theory. I can understand why you think that, but I can assure you that they stem from direct comments from people I paddle with regularly as well as others I speak to on the river. A few in particular comment about a certain ...

Re: Our sport is a mess
I'm probably speaking out of turn given my limited experience and minimal time involved. However I have been through the whole process of being interested in slalom and trying to find a group to practice with. Luckily I found one last year, and now that group, Cheltenham, thanks to the grand efforts...

K1 cagdeck or K1 deck
Wanted, a K1 cagdeck size small, or a plain old K1 deck that can be used with any cag.

Re: Can we improve any part of Canoe Slalom?
I don't think the artificial courses are the answer long term. The pumps cost an absolutely absurd amount of money per hour. In Pershore in Worcestershire they have the planning permission and the finances in place to create an artificial rapid below a new hydro project. It was supposed to be starte...

Re: The Future of British Slalom??
One thing that I think could be addressed is perhaps to have less focus on national divisions in the first place. While I think that this is good to have, I think it might perhaps lose site of the bigger picture, i.e. getting people involved in slalom in the first place. If more clubs set up gates, ...

Re: The Structure of Slalom
My attitude is, keep things easy and simple to use and understand, and people will get involved. This, I think, is the most important concept for any organiser or person involved in the committees needs to obtain a thorough grip of. The easier, the simpler, and the more transparent the process of s...

Re: The Structure of Slalom
Apologies for butting in on this, especially for my first post! As someone who has recently started dabbling in slalom practice I have a relevant perspective about issues of getting people into the sport. The issues I personally faced were as follows: 1) I couldn't easily find a slalom club anywhere...
