Re: Tees Barrage Prem Race 10/Pan Celtic & Division 1 Race

Pan Celtic paddlers and Paddle Up Paddlers will be required to wear their Divisional bibs for the race. If they are not a ranking paddler and don't have a bib they must bring a BC Membership Card or equivalent to prove their membership. This is the same if a paddler forgets their bib. If you do not ...

Re: UK 19.8 - Safety Rule - Comment?

Also I don't see how it is confusing at all to tell if 2 people have come down after you? The next paddlers would usually come down 1 minute after you Give or take 15 seconds either way. You can see the paddler coming down the river after you have finished so it's a matter of counting 1 new person a...

Re: UK 19.8 - Safety Rule - Comment?

As a person who is very often on the finish line I can quite easily say that we are not able to tell the paddler to get back on the water as most of the time they have just paddled straight past the finisher at full speed. In the higher Divisions such as Prem and Division 1 the paddlers should know ...

Re: Proposed rule change.

So at it stands I believe nearly all the Div1 paddlers will send all there entries in next February for the hole season and then decide at a latter date if they are actually going to the event, as you can get a refund if you withdraw you entry. Actually this is wrong as an organiser does not need t...

Re: Proposed rule change.

I don't personally think that the answer to this question it to allow a promoted paddler two weeks after their promotion to enter any race in their new division and be guaranteed an entry. As someone who has taken entries for the Washburn Division 1 races for the past 4 season I cannot understand ho...

Re: Washburn Division 1 16th/17th July 2016

A new updated start list has just been sent off to be uploaded to the slalom website so should be on there soon. If any of your details are incorrect please contact me before the race as it will save a lot of people a lot of time. Also if you were one of the many people who sent me your entries in J...

Newly-Promoted Paddlers

Just had the question about newly promoted paddlers asked to me and wanted to know what other paddlers, parents and organisers thought about this. The general rumour is that if you are promoted 2 weeks before an event then an event organiser must accept you into their event UK C11.3 Late entries wil...

Re: Washburn Division 1 16th/17th July 2016

The rule regarding newly promoted paddlers is below UK C11.3 Late entries will not be accepted except (a) from newly-promoted Competitors whose promotion has not occurred more than two weeks before the event. However when the Event Limit is actually reached the organiser does not need to accept any ...

Re: Washburn Division 1 16th/17th July 2016

Hi Steve, I actually had bets on how long it would be until someone asked this question. I will have to double check the wording of the rules in the yearbook but I will give my provisional understanding. There is a general rumour about newly promoted paddlers automatically being accepted into an eve...

Re: Opening dates for entries -Personal Discussion thread

It has taken me a little time to make my mind up on where I stand on this discussion. I can understand the argument for having an opening date for entries, but then again what difference does it make. This year for example I'm taking entries for a Double Division 1 at Washburn in July which I only h...
