Re: Vets' Points

I am very much in the racing on big water for fun camp, and I am quite happy just seeing if I have beaten other vets in the race, or any host division paddlers by comparing results myself. I think it is nice that there is a trophy but I don't expect to be in aposition to win it, so I'm not too bothe...

Re: Canoe Slalom photo

More pictures from Div 2, 3 and 4 races please! I get hundreds of photos of top Prems, quite a lot across Prem and Div 1, but not nearly enough from Div 2, 3 and 4 races. And I like pictures from Div 2, 3 and 4 races, so as long as they're good I tend to publish them. Hmm, the last few div 2, 3 and...

You only need to know those within 1 result of promotion so they only paddle Saturday and not Sunday.
Strictly speaking yes, but paddlers ask organisers on both days - last weekend one of your club's paddlers wasn't sure and asked me on Sunday...

Thanks for looking into this Duncan!

Re: Results required for promotion display

Just had a thought for extending this in a way that may be useful to organisers of events with no internet access at the weekend - would it be possible to furnish event organisers with a list of paddlers who are within 2 wins of promotion on the weekend of their event? I looked up a few people last ...

Pinkston Div 2/3 Free Practise

Due to a booking clash for the Friday evening, this year we will be running all free practise sessions on Saturday 4th May. In a way this is good because it means we can do away with complicated booking arrangements because I can assume you will all be in or near Glasgow by Saturday morning. To avoi...

Tully Div 1

I am organising the extra safety boat rota for this race. I have about enough people to cover Saturday without anyone getting stuck with a super long shift, but could do with more volunteers especially for Sunday. Safety cover will not be compromised if I don't get more volunteers, but the race will...

Re: Map references

Why did I never spot that before? I wonder if it is complete - there are some courses not on that web page, but may be in the POI files?

Re: How to make my life easier!

Oh, and while i am ranting, is there any support for a limit to a competitors number of results challenges? Perhaps over a season (they do it in other sports) - it feels as though some people have a "challenge everything" approach to results In the vast majority of cases the paddler putting in a pr...

Re: Map references

Some locations do not have an exact postcode for Sat Nav (Fairnilee) so map reference is sometimes useful. Perhaps unnecessary for HPP, LEE Valley and Teeside which all have brown signs once you get close, but for rural venues a postcode can get you to the wrong side of a village never mind wrong si...

Re: Year Book Review - Codes

Sometimes useful if the event organiser doesn't put up the event info until very close to the race - I have definitely used them in the last year, not often, but as I say useful when required.

I should really prepare my event info for this years race...

Re: Division 2/3 Veterans Trophy

Jim I have just stopped laughing and thinking about you stuck in a gate with the pole down your BA. Question is was your Head inside or out of the Gate. :D Downstream of the gate/pole, I have video of it from the bridge but it is hard to see exactly what happened (long way off, concrete in the way)...

He never told me about that little incident from last weekend Jim. Did he put you off laughing?

Steve
No, the water noise drowned him out, and I had a pretty good idea what I needed to do to get unimpaled and get through the gate correctly in the right direction!

Re: Division 2/3 Veterans Trophy

Oooh, I was only planning to enter Div 1 and Prem as a veteran and just accept that I will probably not get to 500 points in total this year, I still don't think I'll be collecting enough to get near a trophy though! Llandysul was great for numbers. HPP not so much but I had a really nice time anywa...

Re: Fins on boats

At the worlds this year there will be C1 and C2 WWR boats using almost the same course all fitted with aftermarket (probably mostly home made) fins much larger than anyone seems to be wanting to use on slalom boats. WWR paddlers have managed not to injure anyone with their fins for many years. But a...
