There's previously been a lengthy thread about Vs/DVs and the structure of recognition for "older" paddlers including constructive points regarding age banding etc and indeed championships based on this scenario. Some years previously, there was a generalised move towards awarding prizes to best-pl...

In addition to commentary, camera positioning and shots also much better than in some previous years -really gave a good(!) idea of the water and the flow of the course - design/layout helped with this. Very impressive coverage - and results for David and Campbell - so far. :)

Can I urge every support for the above suggestion? This is a serious hike in fees, with several major constraints, at very short notice on a - co-incidentally - very popular weekend. Attending clubs and individuals should make their responses through the SCA Forum; no doubt there will be further co...

Doubles were introduced at Grandtully to encourage paddlers to make the journey north, but soon we had doubles everywhere, so the overall number of competitive events increased considerably. This devalued each event, so the attraction of going to Scotland for a double no longer had the attraction i...

Concur with Jerry in that a Vets Championship should be on water with some degree of challenge to it; participants would be most likely to be previously experienced in this area, and if it's going to have any meaning, them it has to be meaningful.........:D

Interesting to watch this one develop: is possible increased dynamism and a sport which will be supposedly better viewing , thus attracting the Holy Grail of TV attention,(all points suggested previously) what we're after? It seems that this follows down the path of much modern sport: an emphasis o...

It is of course a well-established fact that all C paddlers are thus because they did something bad in a previous life , and are sent back to endure agonies for @ 30 minutes of paddling until all sensation in lower limbs is lost; only to reappear - again agonisingly - as they extract themselves fro...
