Re: Cross Discipline Co-operation

Glad it worked, was a bit worried.

We also did cross discipline at Howsham with a WWR event after the slalom, long may it continue.

Re: Howsham Weir

So this morning I am getting things ready to take to Howsham tonight. My priority just now is printing signs asking people not to use the toilets as rubbish bin after we got a £60 fine last year as the toilets were full of bottles and other rubbish. I won't share my thoughts and emotions at the time...

Re: Howsham Weir

So 'guests' can't enter open online as the system doesn't support it. You will need to email me your details and I'll put them on the system and you can pay on the day. Name, Year of Birth, Club, C1/K1, Sat/Sun/Both, BC Membership No

Re: Howsham Weir

Please get your entries (inc div 4) in asap so we can ensure we have the correct numbers for toilets and catering.

If you are happy to shoot the weir but are new to slalom please enter the open. Based on your result on the Saturday I can then put you in Div 3 or Div 2 on the Sunday via direct entry.

Re: Howsham Weir

Please note we are changing the start list a bit this year, Vets will be in the middle before C2 (allowing paddlers to get back for their C2 runs) and more importantly all of Div 4 including practice will be around lunch time so even late entries can get a practice, followed by run 1 and then run 2.

Re: Vets' Points

I wouldn't enter as an official as I don't have time to be an official, my main priority is generally Olivia which means spending time with her on the water practicing, off the water looking after her and making sure she is on the water for her races and has safety (me) on the water. If I can help a...

Howsham Weir

Everything is looking good for Howsham.

Please get your entries in asap so we can ensure we have enough catering/toilets etc.

As well as all the usual fun we will be running a Wavehopper race after the slalom on Saturday!

Re: Vets' Points

Personally I'm just enjoying the racing, banter and setting my own goals. Probably the best 'solution' would be that each person putting forward a proposed change should wait until the end of the season and then run their proposal against the full results for the season and see how it affects the st...

Re: Results required for promotion display

Are you calculating on the fly or is it recorded in the dB? At the moment it is on the fly as it was only designed for individual paddlers. I need to move the code to the ranking update and store it in the database, then it will be available to you and I will make a report available to organisers.

Re: Results required for promotion display

As a quick fix I've added the paddlers points and total to the list all bibs option which you can use from Nick's web site under the more option. load into a spreadsheet, move each division you are interested into a different tab and then sort by total. You can then quickly identify those near promo...

Re: Results required for promotion display

Sadly not, had far too much on, its on my list of to do but not sadly a priority, what free time I have available for slalom related volunteering is being spent on issuing certificates, online bib applications, BC membership validation and a few other tweaks for various people. As well as helping wi...

Re: Back-up Dates?

Since this has come to the top, just an additional thought. Suppose it happened and an event is cancelled the backup date clashes with another event. Paddlers have entered both and the events have planned accordingly (toilets, prizes, food etc). There would then be mass cancellations for both events...

Bib Applications & Promotion Certificates

If you want your promotion certificate please CLEARLY write your email address on your bib application (for that matter write all details clearly!). We are having a few cases where the email address is not clear so those paddlers won't get their certificates although I do try to second guess what it...

Re: Points calculations with DNFs

Problem with the McConkey is that its a one off (superfinal format) which complicates the results. This may have delayed loading the results meaning it was possible that the entries for the Tryweryn race was downloaded before the paddler had been officially promoted on the ranking database and thus ...
