Re: Division 2 and Open Competitors/Event

Technically you join the Association for the federation that you are domiciled in. Therefore residents in Scotland join SCA, residents in England join BC. However at one stage SCA switched Temporary Membership to on-line application. This doesn't really work and I have yet to see any clarification f...

Seaton Park Slalom 27-28th May 2017

HOW TO ENTER Entries will be accepted at Event Control up to 11.00am on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday , however we would prefer advance notice to assist in planning and setting a start list. If you are not a member of the SCA, BCU or WCA you must subscribe to a “Temporary Membership” to cover insur...

Re: Online Entries - The Future - Have your Say?

Online Entries will always only be part of the system it is a tool it has uses and it has issues. There are a number of things I would like to see improved. 1/ I revert back to the ability to enter events when not part of the Ranking List. It may be difficult and it may be minority but there are def...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P

Whilst I totally understand the frustration of refused entries I think some of the discussion is unhealthy and wrong. However there are a few issues with McConkey that should be taken further and raised at ACM. 1/ We do need to review the Priority and Entry regulations. Priority dates are establishe...

Re: Online Entries - The Future - Have your Say?

We had a problem in that following promotion you need to wait until the Bib officers have updated the database and it has been re-uploaded. Hence it would be a Div 1 entry for a Prem and so PU and not priority, we sent mail entry and emailed organiser but mail entry arrived after the priority date a...

Re: Superfinal Format at Prem Races

I would suggest a modification to that, based on Final of 10 racers (should be modified to reflect the actual Class entry) top 7 qualify direct to Final from Run 1, remaining 3 places are awarded on the basis of Run 2 results. From 11th place down Ranking is based on best of 2 runs, for places 1-10 ...

BC in the News

Not what we want to read, also query why nothing has been raised or published considering we are forever being advised on Governance requirements - good governance is effectively good and open communications between those making the decisions and the electorate to whom they are accountable! http://w...

Re: Club Registraions

Maybe worth noting for next year t the to highlight that the form defines Club Votes at the ACM and should be returned prior to ACM rather than by 17th December for entry in Yearbook. Form states in 2 places return no later than 17th December 2016 ;-)

Re: 6.15 Div 1 Practice

Basis behind the proposal is to provide a more graduated approach to paddler development, currently we race kids through the ranks to Prem than find they can't read water don't know the course and struggle. Trying to counter this and introduce a level of course management for Div 1 in preparation fo...

Re: AKC Seaton Slalom - Cancelled for 2016

After due thought, discussion and review of site conditions Aberdeen Kayak Club have taken the reluctant decision to cancel the Seaton Park Slalom for 2016. Considerable effort has been extended in seeking to progress various works and a requirement to involve local authority support. We did finally...

Re: AKC Seaton Slalom - 10-11th September

Please note that we have rescheduled the races to 10th and 11th September other details remain the same.

We still have an issue with a "hung tree" over the channel but not only is it proving fairly stable we are in discussion with Local Authorities on remedial works prior to the slalom.
