Final position determined by final run is far from being best run counts. It means time made on semis counts for nothing at except to qualify for a particular place in the final. As Jim says it becomes a one run counts race, with all the mind games that come with it. No problem with that. That's sp...

I was away during the olympics and set my PVR to record all the slalom canoeing. When I returned I was very disappointed to find it had not worked.

Has anyone recorded the heats, semis and finals in a format that could be transferred?

PM me. Thanks

St George Cross works for me and we don't have to spend millions on consultants to come up with it. Just two thick red lines on a white background. Easily recogniseable too.

Mark. We use helmet stickers at work. I'll see if I can get a price.

Seat position is very important. Too far back and the boat will be slow and uncontrollable. Too far forward and it won't turn. Many people fix the seat in place temporarily using self adhesive velcro so that the seat can be repositioned until you are happy. Use pieces on the sides to connect to the...

I only lightly touched the gate... I only missed the gate by a bit .... I only took a few drugs during the Winter Training ... Which rules do you want some discretion on ?? For peace of mind weight your boat 100g over at least. You don't have to worry about other peoples calibration of scales etc t...

Unfortunately, there is no strict rule there. Quite often Judges will be allowed an official practice run or even free practice. Sometimes, at selection races for example, free practice is discouraged. Best to try and contact the organiser in advance if practice is important to you. Even then, the ...

First of all the age issue : Age in itself is not the only constraint. Often by the time we are 30 or 35 there are other limitations on our fitness and freedom to train. Because of this I am quite happy that the age for veteran should remain the same. Thankfully, some of these constraints eventuall...

Re-runs should be the absolute last resort. For example if both main and backup time fail. We all know that occasionally one paddler will catch another but it is up to the section judge to blow the whistle so there is no hinderence. A swinging pole does not count as hinderence. Rule 28.4 deals with...
