Re: 6.10 Portable points proposal with a view to implement 2
Hi Boatman, I'm afraid I think that you're missing the point. A div 2/3 at Tully by its very nature is going to be less challenging than a 1/2 at Tully. I'm actually struggling at this point in time to envisage a course at Tully that wouldn't cause carnage among div 3s and still be remotely challeng...

Re: 6.10 Portable points proposal with a view to implement 2
There may not have been much change to the div 1 race calendar between 2014 and 2015 but there has been to the div 2 one and this has left us with a pitiful programme in terms of challenging water. Div 2 paddlers have lost Lee Valley, two sets of Abbey Rapids races and Teesside, arguably the best ra...

Boat bags for sale
I've got two Nomad boat bags for sale - one of them is my wife's. Only used twice so in very good nick. Looking for around £40 each, but will consider any reasonable offer. I'll have them with me at the Tees Barrage 1/2 slalom on 20th September if anyone's interested. Cheers, James Hastings Div 2 K1...

Hi Duncan,
I'm struggling to find the provisional start list on the KKC web site - can you point me in the right direction?
Cheers,
James

Re: SHEPPERTON DIV 2/3 19/20 OCT
That's a dish of ointment! I had been hoping recent rain might have brought the Thames up a bit, but obviously there wasn't enough, or it just got soaked up by the dry ground.
Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Whose weather forecast are you looking at Dave? The Met Office one is suggesting quite unsettled conditions next week with rain in eastern and south eastern parts. Bottom line is that we can only wait and see.

Thanks Bankside. Unfortunately will probably not be able to make it as the Glasgow area is a bit far to go from London.

2014 event at Pinkston
I notice that in the provisional 2014 calendar there is a div 2/3 race at a place called Pinkston. Anyone know where this is?

James

Re: Race cards!
I was lucky enough to receive my requested race cards yesterday despite the envelope having been neatly sliced open, I assume to check whether it was full of chequebook. The fact that a number of us in different areas have had the same issue suggests that the problem may lie in the local sorting off...

Re: West Tanfield "Good Practice"
Can I add my name to those praising Ken and his team for an extremely well organised event. I was more than pleasantly surprised. In particular special thanks to those on the start who spent several hours at times up to thier waists in water ensuring that no-one got lost at the start, and to the exc...

Re: 2/3/4 slaloms not allowed
Aah John, the dangers of making assumptions....although my club is based in North Yorkshire, I actually live and work in London (it's a long story), thus I am more than aware of the issues around lack of good slalom venues in the South East. I was one of those that the supported the campaign to keep...

Re: 2/3/4 slaloms not allowed
I'm afraid that I don't think that your idea would work Dee. Unfortunately the nature of river hydrology in the UK means that most of them go up and down like sinks with the plug constantly put in and removed. This is true even more in the summer when the slalom season takes place than in the winter...

Re: 2/3/4 slaloms not allowed
In my view, Cardington is not, never has been, and never should be, a division 2 standard slalom course
