Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
... Online entries is already pressing organisers to complete their race details for the published calendar ... Pretty much agree with everything said, but for clarity the race details at the stage are primarily for creating the calendar (for printing and for Canoeslalom.co.uk). Organisers have alw...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Lee Valley is also a public site - we don't have control over who will be let in and the centre may well operate the legacy course separately when the Div 1 is happening

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
But that would need to have been a motion at the start of ACM, which would have to be voted on using the current rules. Assuming it passed we would then need to recalculate votes held by each club for the remainder of the ACM. And the recalculated votes would then only get used for voting in officia...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
I see from the registration form that the number of votes depends on events run in the 2020 season. This is a bit unfair, as the only ones run were very early in the season. Should it not for fairness include 2019 season? It is what the rules state, to change it we would need a vote under the old r...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
re: numbers limit. At the Nene we have no boundary fence, and public footpaths and cycleways running through the site, including directly adjacent to the course. Policing a limit will be impossible. How do we deal with this? Have you spoken to the centre - they should have their own policies and yo...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
.. For div 2 and below we are still scoring on cards ... Not something online entry is going to be able to help with, but ... If your control area is big enough or you can find two volunteers from the same household: - time keeper in control keeps list of times - clerk collects penalties as per usu...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Your implementation of canoeslalomentries has basically allowed organising clubs to sidestep GDPR issues For clarity, canoeslalomentries does not exempt organising clubs from their own GDPR responsibilities, but it should help them to restrict access to data that is not on the startlist, such as em...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
I have a suspicion that the organiser may be required to collect contact info and there is no way of checking that they really have scanned the code. Hard to find a place where we can even guarantee they see it. But it is worth considering as an extra.

CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
It's not going to be easy next year! I'm thinking about things that we might need specifically from canoeslalomentries to help with some of the red tape. I have got a couple of ideas (and questions) and am open to others. Data for contact tracing . Currently the privacy policy on canoeslalomentries ...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
The reason I asked about 2014 was to see if we could use that information to work towards a similar uptick in 2021. Sadly I think that pushing to host the Olympics is probably outside of the Slalom Committee's remit. :D :D :D The difficulty I see is that, whilst reasons for decline are regularly sug...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
2020 is not the end of the season, so I don't think it should be compared as such.
Having said that your other figures show a fairly steady decline (except for the 2014 surge).
Is this across the board for P-3 and all classes?

Re: ACM Time!
PS. For those old enough to remember the expressions "be there or be square", I think this year it is "be there and be square".

ACM Time!
28 November 2020 OK, it has been a rather odd year for Slalom (and the world, come to that) and it is going to be a pretty weird ACM. For a start, the decision to extend the season over two years means that this ACM falls mid season, so rule changes will inevitably be minimal just to get us through...
