I like trophies or medals but I might just be old fashioned
I have quite a few kite buggy trophies, and medals from all sorts of events, but the C1 trophy from West Tanfield last year is the best of the lot! I really ought to make a proper display!

Re: Post-dated cheques!
Interesting discussion, I'd seen a comment before that most organisers bank cheques a week before the event to make sure they clear, so I had already worked out that 5 months was a good idea on that basis, but obviously that's less helpful for the likes of Kelso (although he hasn't had post dated ch...

Re: Yearbook
Having forgotten to pick up cards at the end of last year I sent Sue 2 SAEs earlier this week and both have come back bulging with 16 cards each.
I have no idea how long it will take me to send all of them out, entering a double event in 2 classes takes 4 cards a time so probably not long!

Re: Shepperton Div 1/2 - 5th/6th March 2016
Just thinking, and you probably have already had these thoughts.... Presumably you are still using entry cards for results (which is where the signature goes), are you printing them for online entries or do they need to hand them in to control on the day? If printed you could possibly allow time for...

Do you want a photo of the arm, or the bit where the arm should be?Dave Royle wrote:Appropriate reason might be "Arm fallen off. Won't be able to race. Photo attached." Keep it brief.

Re: C1 paddle T-piece wanted
What style and size are you looking for? If you are just looking for a straight grip, try buying some hardwood dowel and drilling it to fit on the end of the shaft. Ash is a popular choice, but I find sycamore feels much better. I turn my own with a centre bulge to fit my hands, I usually mount them...

Re: Event Safety
In that case BC's position is inconsistent and the question the Slalom Committee should be asking the powers that be is why the Event Safety 'diktat' is not being applied to all competition disciplines in which BC has an organising hand. Cheers, James This dictat applies to all clubs running any ki...

Re: Event Safety
Peter, I did the event safety course for my non-slalom club in November, one of the points I made a definite note of was that the BC requirement is that each club organising committee have a trained event safety officer involved in the planning, but that this person does not necessarily need to be p...

Re: 2016 ACM - Portable Points Proposal
On first read through it looks promising but if I may dwell on a particular detail..... You are proposing no paddle up at double events based on the assumption that both divisions will be racing on the same course and water. It is possible with our modern pumped artificial courses to vary the water ...

Re: Symonds Yat Slalom 17th/18th October
Thanks everyone, really enjoyed it despite a bit of a brush with the rocks on Sunday during practice which almost traumatised me into not racing C1.... Good to see a few people I know from way back - Ali, Rich, Nick, Rich B and Sarah, as well as the friends I've made racing this year. Well done Davi...

Re: Symonds Yat Slalom 17th/18th October
And I printed them off today, including modifying the date, just to make sure I wouldn't forget!
Just about got my right ankle working in the C1 tonight, I reckon if I can get some stints on Friday afternoon I'll be able to get it flexible enough to race....

I would have put money on you being the first to mention it, when Terry got in first I guess it was inevitable it would be you that posted it!
Remind me, were you and Ali on that trip?

Ah yes, that photo!
I might have known when going to a CCC event, that the photo would get brought up at some point!

Re: Symonds Yat Slalom 17th/18th October
No problem Davie
I'm sure you'll be great on the day, better than me anyway - my right ankle still isn't bending right, I might need to put a booster seat in my C1 for the weekend, and I can't see that ending well

Re: Symonds Yat Slalom 17th/18th October
Watch out for the titanic battle of the Div 2 Vets! Davie tells me he's never beaten Terry, or actually met him before.... At Symonds Yat they will go head to head for the first time in the last event of the season. The points are 137 in Davie's favour just now, but that is no margin at all - it's g...
