... which is why I was labouring the point so that we understood the international interpretation of this rule (even though it is ambiguous as written) and why we therefore have the UK part of the rule for clarification - maybe the old saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words' would be appropria...

A good quality generator should have an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) fitted to avoid spikes or brownouts. If it's being serviced annually then there shouldn't be any issues. It is possible to purchase a standalone AVR but you might as well put this cost in to getting a better quality generator...

The UK part of rule 28.6.1 is for clarification of the ICF rule. removing it will not change the rule. And that is the interpretation used internationaly. Could we ask for this to be clarified by the Slalom Technical Committee, as the ICF rule as written is open to interpretation, e.g. front man ne...

but at what cost to the sport? Maybe it's time to limit officials expenses to specific roles without which the race wouldn't run, e.g. chief judge, timing keeper, etc. The remainder would have to be drawn from unpaid volunteers/parents/club members/etc. The accounts need closer inspection at this y...

There has already been a suggestion made previously in the forum for how promotion could be managed whilst allowing the number of events to increase (apart from Prem) and that is to allow paddlers to race in the next higher division (paddle up). Promotion to the next higher division would then be b...

Many clubs have already done so and have the shiny new boats to prove it but their bids for funding will always be ...

I can't see how this is the organiser's fault - the race was sort of dumped on Tees Tigers at the last minute with the change in venue. Never mind the camping - what about the fact that the course is still a construction site with no access to the general public. Do we know if the race is definitel...
