Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 2 August 19th & 20th

I probably knew about MCD at some point in the year - most of my online entries so far have been PU or officials so I will have forgotten! I think all the C1 boys are more than 1 win from promotion so we should be quorate all weekend, but for the girls I know one of them is getting close and is on a...

Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 2 August 19th & 20th

Rob, how come I have ££ on Sunday - I paid online didnt I?

Div 2 C1M - we are just quorate, can we get a few more entries to make sure please? :)
Looks like Div 2 C1W are in the same situation.

Are we missing C1's and C2s because they are doing officials K1 in preparation for next weekend?

Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 2 August 19th & 20th

...not from London it isn't! Give me back the August bank holiday 1/2 any day! But which August Bank Holiday? English, Scottish or Local? August is one of the holidays that some towns & cities in Scotland take at different times to others typically determined by the start of the summer shutdown for...

This should be one of the best races of the season, well worth travelling for if you are still dithering....

Re: The Year Book

Not easy to search rules online at venues with no phone or internet reception, for some reason people seem to expect me to have a yearbook with me (which I generally do) so I have referred to it a few times for rules queries (usually points calculation - I think the app needs internet too?) Hi Jim,...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?

One problem is that there aren't so many complete beginners in the 18-35 age group, some parents starting with kids but many of them are a bit older. As it happens there are a few students that have joined our club and seem keen to start racing, a couple have already made it to div 2, I think that t...

Re: C2 Structure for 2018 Season

The single division looks like a good idea. I am a bit confused about international opportunities for C2 now, clearly ICF are still including them in word cups etc. but have BC stopped selecting them to GB team or is it simply that the GB crews all opted to retire when the class was pulled from the ...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?

How did they run events with more than 200 lower division paddlers? What time did they start and finish? When did everybody in control manage to eat and wee? Did the timing never fail? It seems huge compared to 3/4s now, we cram as many as possible in the Prems and 1s because they go faster but the...

Re: Emails to organisers

To reinforce Duncans point, even if you know a venue has WIFI please don't expect the organisers to necessarily be able to access email on site. For some reason neither my laptop or phone are able to get internet access when logged in to Pinkston WIFI (other people seem to get it). Also I had a very...

Re: Boat Weights

Not a killer reason, but a couple.... - Once upon a time it was about structural strength, but advances in construction method (vac bagging and sandwich construction are obvious ones) mean that boats are much stronger than they were 20 years ago. Note that the length changed too, which also helps ma...

Re: Washburn July Div 2 & Pan Celtic

I agree, another fantastic weekend at Washburn!

Lets all hope for some more rain so they get a release for the div 1, Les doesn't really need a rest!
(I'm sure they all do really, I know how drained I was midweek after Pinkston)

Re: Washburn July Div 2 & Pan Celtic

Wow, Scotland can't even pull together a mixed team because 2 out of the 3 boats would be me!

All our Juniors will be in France for a training camp by the weekend, and most of the Vets will be out there coaching them..... :(

Re: Pinkston Div 2/3 - 24/25 June (+ practice)

Thanks Steve, would you beleive there was not a breath of wind on the Monday after?

The officials details on my results lists may be questionable (times will be right) - I have just spotted that I have Kay Royle entered as K1M instead of K1W, sorry!
It is probably not the only gaff.
