You could always attach a balloon to the shoulder strap. Pink for a girl, blue for a boy. This, in part, may alleviate the need for those cumbersome bibs one has to wear. It would certainly make the PFD more bouyant and, may reduce the need to wear one at all.

Re: Spidermans' comment regarding boat locks Long steel hawser with a loop at one end and a ball at the other. Feed the hawser through the gap between the seat and the hull, feed ball through loop, pull tight and close the balled end between the door and body of the car. It works really well. I des...

Ignorance reigns here , again. Presumably the Thames does not have sufficient a drop on it to produce the flow needed. That and the fact that one would probably have to bulldoze a banker's house to do it. I appreciate it is academic now as the course has been constructed. I just find it interesting...

Carl, I do understand your position and the kids will only spend it when your gone but, if we are to improve the access to big water and facilities for future paddlers in the south, shouldn't we be looking at something a little less costly than this? It would be difficult for us up here in whippet ...

Could we not be in danger of being priced out of the market? I am lucky enough to be close to HPP, I can take my butties down, sit on the bank and watch other paddlers once I have knackered myself in a morning session, wait a bit and go on in the pm. I could be there for three hours or more if I wa...

Just read the " blurb" attached to the International at Lee Valley, where our finest paddlers have been invited to attend ( I notice with some dismay that my name has been left off the list yet again!!). I understand that if they want to paddle the day before then;" Water slots are £15 per boat per...

Aha, Eureka!

How many should there be in circulation and, how many are there in peoples garages - can they all be accounted for, albeit in the wrong places?

Personally, I prefer the ice cream carrier idea myself.

What's a Tutti? When I was a boy ( many, many, many years ago) I had Tutti Fruity Ice cream. But I guess if the bag held ice cream it would have melted by now and probably would not be worth rescuing from the back of any garage, it might even have grown legs and walked off all on its own, in which ca...

Like the idea of no divisional restriction on access in principal but, It will come with some horrendous legal problems for under aged paddlers. Perhaps a divisional upper limit should be applied. Div 4 paddlers can paddle up to Div 2 water (Washburn ???!!!**) Div 2 paddlers can paddle in Div 1 eve...

Drilling holes in the boat is likely to lower the boat in the water and this will lower the value. International salvage rights may be invoked.

Also, Surely there are many, many new graduates from outdoor Ed degrees who currently are looking for work of some sort. Can we not tempt them to join us in some form of official capacity. I understand this is a naieve comment, particularly as I have absolutely no understanding of the financial wor...
