Re: Pan celtic
It was decided to select the Prem paddlers after the Graveyard Slalom, as then they would have had the opportunity to race at 3 events and the ranking would be more up to date than the 2019 list. But because Graveyard got cancelled we lost 2 sets of ranking result. So to select from just the One Pre...

Re: Can we find 500 new paddlers for 2022?
Can we find 500 new paddlers Thanks for starting this off Arrowcraft A group of us are already looking into ways of improving entry level events and getting paddlers into Slalom, so there are already some good comments on this post to take note of. Firstly I would like to answer some of your questio...

Re: Grandtully Div 1 - 21/22nd August
Brilliant event.
Thank you everyone that put all the hard work and time in to make this such an enjoyable and well run weekend.
Also all the paddlers that showed that even if numbers are down the standard of competition is high.

Re: C2 paddling under current Covid-19 restrictions
Could this be the final Nail in the Coffin for C2 or do we become sensible and let the C2 crew make the decision.

Re: Vets - Linked your old bibs
Thanks for that Duncan.
I have just worked out that I am No longer in Div 1 and last in Vets.
Better start training for when we can race.

Re: BCU Yearbooks 1974 to 1980
If you log onto Chalfont Park Canoe Club, they have a link to nearly all the Old Year Books, Mags, and Result Sheets. Peter Keene and John Macleod have been working on the Archives. I found one of my first Div 3 Slaloms at Matlock, 345 entries, just in the Div3. Anyone with any Old result sheets Pet...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Dee Have you looked at the NHS Scanning a QR code. The organiser sets up a QR Code and Posts it around the event. Everyone scans it on there Phone when they arrive. It works out if you have been within 2 meters of someone with Covid 19 and if you have you should get a call in a few Days. Problem is,...

Re: Back to Slaloms
So we held a Slalom on the Yat today, with some 30 competitors. South West regional Open. [ Perfect River Levels ] Synchronised Stopwatch timing, with a Split on the Start and Finish Gate, same starter and finisher for all runs. I calculate that gives us an accuracy of + or - 0.20 secs. Two Judges o...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
[ Dee] Should we be encouraging Div 4/Div 3 and maybe even Div 2s to run throughout most of the year. This could actually help the calendar too, as the lower divisions often can't be run against the higher divisions. At the very least, winter slaloms could become ranking slaloms for the lower divisi...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
So can we have a good debate about the decline in paddlers at the ACM. Hear is something starters. The squads take all the good up and coming paddlers from Clubs, tell them that they will be Champions, then drop them when they don't make the grade. The Club gets left with the ones that don't make it...

Back to Slaloms
We need to start somewhere. If other sports can get up and running there must be a way to Start Slalom competitions. So Internationals and Prem races are going to be hard to run safely, so lets start at the bottom. In my opinion there is No reason we can't run Div 4 Slaloms. Remember there is No 2 y...

So everyone keeps posting, Keep things simple and then giving lots of options for debate. The Comity have lots to think about, decisions to make, just so we can run competitive events for everyone safely. They are meeting this evening and considering the best options to get Slaloms running safely. F...

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season
Can anybody explain why it is a bad decision to extend the season? I can't see any real downsides apart from a bit of administration to iron out any anomolies such as the age categories. Certainly nobody put any real objections on the thread where this matter was discussed. I suggest that if anyone ...
