Cheers CP

I used to try and keep my bib number lower than my age.

I've managed it again for 2008 (but only by paddling so rubbish last season that I achieved a deserved demotion to Div 2)

Quaker I understand your desire for a permanent freeze in fees and I don't think I'll be able to persuade you otherwise. My point was that the existing rule was well-constructed. In the example given, it did (in 6 years out of 10) result in an unchanged fee. The reason for the proposed change is th...

Thanks CP. The preamble to the motion says: The existing rule has served the Committee and the organising clubs well since it was introduced in 1997. It has enabled the entry fees to either remain unchanged or to increase by small amounts each year without the need to agree changes at each ACM. As ...

:( Bit of a mix-up with the handover of kit at HPP. Pingu really is lost !! :( :( :( I've recovered some of the kit but the following has disappeared from HPP: Peak cagdeck. Short-sleeves, black (Almost new) Black neoprene deck (Almost new) Peak drytop. Long sleves with neck seal torn (pretty old) ...

:) :) :)

Thanks for rescuing me Dave.

Andy had a call last night from Chris Baillie and another from Stephen Churcher this morning to tell him that you would be looking after me until the Inter Clubs.

Panic over.

Help!!

I've been abandoned at Tully!!

My paddling partner was in such a rush to leave that he has left me in the Car Park.

Even worse, he's left at the bottom of bag covered in wet paddling gear. Please help to re-unite me.

Call Andy on 07711 053523 if you find me.

Thanks.

Pingu.

I have always thought that Canadan paddlers have a bit of their brain missing. However, probably I'm just jealous that due to football injuries I'm not flexible enough to get into a C1. Secretly, I dream of (one day) being able to use more leverage to look a bit speedier through the gates on a slal...

I speak to the Treasurer regularly. He has read these posts but he's too busy finishing off the accounts to reply personally.

He told me to thank CP for replying (so accurately) on his behalf. As CP says, the full financial information for the Slalom committee will be reported at the ACM.

Dear Cambell I'm sure you're a very nice chap and all that - but what an egotistical and arrogant comment you make. Not a good example to the younger paddlers at all. Surely the route to future glory is to find ways of encouraging and supporting them - not just saying it worked for you (at present,...

After 23 years of slalom last weekend could have been my last race if some of the rule changes go through. The question you may ask is why? I believe the powers that be may have missed the point what this sport is about because I know some of the paddlers have. I will spell it out for you who fall ...

Great to be back racing at Llangolly. Thanks to everyone involved in the preparation and organisation of the event. Hopefully the town's traders' noticed an increase in trade and will support races in the future. It would be good though to get a written agreement for continued access that will bene...

I've read the comments here and on other threads which also discussed the costs of entry and discounts for juniors. I don't know the comparitive figures for other sports but can contribute a couple of comments and observations: Firstly, at one of the first Slalom Committee AGM's that I attended the...

Out of interest I looked at a 1992 year book at events accessable from the SW - there were many, ...... Worcestershire - Martley, Kinver CC, ........ Where have they gone why not noe run - this is something we need to look at but it is all going to take time and manpower - perhaps we need a seperat...
