GRANDTULLY CAMPSITE WORKS Feb 2016

Post by Kelso » Sat Jan 23, 2016 1:56 am

Please note that various works are planned for Grandtully Campsite during early 2016.

CLOSED GATES AND CONES DO APPLY TO YOU..... SOME OF THIS WORK IS DANGEROUS.

1. TREE SURGERY AND MANAGEMENT
(Following inspection and advice from the Scottish Forestry commission...)

With regret we will be cutting down Oak tree No.2 (from the front gate) which has become dangerous.
Oak trees No 1 and 3 will be given a "severe haircut"
A coppiced tree overhanging the south road will be removed.
All ash tree saplings will be removed - Grandtully is a hotspot for deadhead, and they are diseased.
Various other tree trimming works.

This work is weather dependent.
Scheduled during February - to be completed before arrival of paddlers for Easter events.
The car park will be closed during the work.
Check with the SCA web site for more details.

Note that replacement trees have been cultivated for the last 14 years.
Some are in place - others are still in nursery.

2. FACILITIES BUILDING REPAIRS

Various internal repairs to changing rooms.
The building from the front door will be closed for about 2 weeks.
Also scheduled during February 2016.
We will open toilets and one shower at the rear of the building while inside works are in progress.

WWR community are aware of these works (race in February)

Check with the SCA web site for more details.
