East Midlands is really close to Nottingham. I'm sure someone can pick you up. What time do you arrive? Presumeably you will have a boat with you.

Popsting on UK Rivers Guidebook on Thursday @6:51:
I live in north wales, theres plenty of water for everyone....... as a guide, you cant see the water mark at mile end, its gone
So it is likely that Llangollen WOULD have been to high to run an event safely.
Thansk Mrs H for trying to keep the event alive. Is it possible to add some guidelines (here or on the slalom web) for what we can do to help get Town Falls back next year, or is it better to see you individually?

There is no way of transporting a boat from the airport to Notts except by car....trust me it wont fit on the bus i have tried!
Offer to pay someone taxi fees for collecting you and you might get lucky!

I'm flying over (supposedly) on the same day, for the Brit Open but i haven't got the flights confirmed. It would be a shame to fly over and not to race, so could someone confirm whether the race is on or not as soon as a decision is made. Much appreciated.

the river is still a tiny bit over 1metre above what it needs to be to be closed. Its currently at 3.16m personally I wouldn't get your hopes up.
Maybe if we have no rain we might stand a chance!
Just for gambling sake I would bet on it being cancelled!

The campsite closed at the end of September. I believe there is another one about 4 miles away which should be open, but I have never used it myself, and don't really know where it is.
