Could save lives if they get stuck upside down.

Must be for the paddler who truly has everything. Seriously, what are the chances that this will actually save someones life? If you are trapped underwater you have maybe five minutes before you are actually dead, and if you can't get out of trouble, or get rescued in that time, you are probably fairly permanently stuck, so another few minutes isn't likely to make much difference, apart from prolonging the inevitable. Just look at those paddlers that carry a knife to get themselves out of trouble - sure there is a chance that you could get snagged on a rope or something, and a knife will be very useful, but does anyone know anyone that has actually rescued themselves using their knife?

lets face it
are there many stories of people ying whilst underwater when canoin well not really and only if doig severe rivers. in this case if you are only goin to get 15 puffs out of ts device if you trapped under a rock i htink this is just going to prelong the time of you dying and just be a waste of money.

The suggestion that you could use it for training people to roll is more interesting than the idea that it could be used for rescue situations. Many people find sitting upside down in a kayak/ canoe very uncomfortable at first and this may give them some more confidence. But nearly £200 for that confidence seems a little steep! :o

maybe a bit of hose pipe that you can stick above the water n breathe through would be more cost effective
