Dont forget that you will always have to be able to get a C2 down the course, unless the ICF decide to scrap the class. The new C2 dimensions are still longer than 4 metres so I dont think the course designers can make the moves much different to what they are now. Maybe some of the course designers could give their opinion on how they see the courses changing this year, after all they are probably in a no win situation. If they try and make the course difficult for 3.5 metre boats by moving gates closer to obstacles then those with 4 metre boats will complain as will the C2 crews and if they dont change the courses they will be accused of being unimaginative and boring.

You should also not forget that the C2's are half a meter shorter than last year.
At the last Olympics and last two World Championships there was a move that the K1-men and C1's would do direct, but the K1-women and C2's would spin. If the K1-women and C2's are now able to do these moves direct with their short boats, then the course will have to be set harder, as the ICF rules still say that the course has to have a spin gate.

I wouldn't worry about it. The course will be the same for everyone. Therefor the results will be an accurate and fair reflection of the competition with respect to your ability.
