Details are now available about the planned upgrade to the Tees Whitewater Course, following the public consultation and exhibition held on 13 June 2008.

Upgrade of the Tees Whitewater Course

The link at the bottom of the page to the consultation exhibition boards includes schematics and artist impressions of the final design.

The exact dates of when they plan to close and re-open the course are still sketchy. The last I heard was the course will be closed for 4 months starting late Ocober / early November 2008.

They also plan to generate electricity when the course isn't in use and therefore the cost of using the course should remain significantly cheaper than the pumped courses at Cardiff & Broxbourne.
The above is the personal opinion of Mark Shaw and does not reflect the views of either the BCU or England Slalom Committees.
