Many thanks to those of you who have sent in your entries. For those of you who have not, please do ASAP, late fees will apply to all cards received after the 18th Mar. Entries will only be accepted with payment.

Anyone wishing an officials run MUST have their card to me by the 18th. We won't be accepting late officials entries.
Start list will be published on the UK Slalom site on Monday 25th after which we will be closed to all entries.

The course will be closed from 13.30 on Friday 29th for course erection.
Once the course is complete only officials will be allowed on the water and they must be wearing their officials bibs. No one may paddle the course on Saturday morning apart from demo runners.

Now you ALL need to do a rain dance...the river is quite low :?

Seems prudent to ask if the event is going to run? Seeing tales of the conditions in various parts of the country and wondering if it is going to be difficult for people to get there. I know an event in Nottingham was cancelled last weekend as people couldn't even get there.
I also hear the water is currently low.
Any input?

We arrived at Tully on Saturday and the river level is very low, the lowest I have seen it, but you can still paddle on it. Although there is snow on the hills the roads are clear, so you will have no issues getting here. Like the rest of the country it is very cold.

We strongly advise paddlers to come prepared for paddling in very cold conditions. Pogies and thermals a must!
The forecast is not looking like it will improve. Heavy rain is rumoured for Thursday, which might boost the river a wee bit, but turning to snow again on Friday.
If you are judging please make sure you are dressed for the arctic  We do have bankside "hostesses" who will be bringing round hot drinks and hope to keep your stints as short as is practical.

Roads have not been a problem but if you are arriving late on Friday please be advised that road from Ballinluig to Aberfeldy can be icy at night. Drive with care.

We look forward to welcoming you for a weekend of "invigorating" racing :D

River lower today than Sunday, still bitterly cold, with flurries of light snow - don't see the conditions getting any better. The river is very low and rocky.

Just been on the phone to a member of the organising team at Tully.

They have looked at the water, and discussed the levels with several of the coaches already there. The water is low, but a suitably testing course can (apparently) be set up.

The weather forecast for the weekend does not include the blizzards and high winds that disrupted travel plans, so the race will go ahead.

Thunderbirds are go, just wrap up warm and pray for the sun to shine to melt the snow and the wind to veer round to blowing water out of the Loch, not hold the water in it ;-)

See you there
CP

Well you can have easterlies if you like but that'll make it colder and less likely to melt the snow

I am learning from my granddaughter, I do not care if it is possible or reasonable, I just want it. :P

So please order a 25 degree (Celsius) Easterly wind, to be ready in time for good water, and to keep the judges warm. Otherwise I will stamp my feet and cry
