Lee Valley Training Sessions

Post by Glen Pether » Sun Nov 23, 2014 10:33 pm

We had a good training session on the Legacy course this morning, with 12 paddlers from Shepperton, Proteus, Viking and Lee Valley of varying ability taking advantage of having the course solely for slalom training. There are spaces available for next Sunday morning 9 - 10am and we are currently looking to continue these session into December.

Generally, it's only paddlers that are on a GB Talent programme that get exclusive slalom sessions at LV, with no rafts or plastic boats, so these sessions are great for those looking for regular and challenging white water training. For those looking to build confidence on moving water, starting on the back straight of the course and building up confidence before full runs is an option.

Any questions, give me a shout.

thanks for publising this and sharing your session. This will enable paddlers who aren't in large enough groups to get slalom sessions on Lee Valley which is a good thing.

LVPC have now booked the legacy course 9 - 10 am on Sunday 7th and 10th December, which will be our last open sessions before the centre closes for Christmas and New year. If we get the numbers required to cover the cost of the water, then we will look at getting the sessions back on in January.

You know you are going to eat too much and watch too much TV over Xmas, so get some proper training in now, it'll hurt less in the new year!

Cheers,
